The 2018002 lock consists of a central gearbox with deadbolt cases or top and bottom shoot bolts which attach via a rod to a bracket on the lock case.
The top/bottom gearboxes and rods are no longer manufactured.
The rods can be disconnected with either the door on or door off.

Remove with door on
If the lock is using deadbolts top and bottom then once the handles and cylinder are removed then the rods can be disconnected through the holes in the door.
The rods are attached to a bracket by 2 screws however there are some models which are held in place by rivets so these would have to be drilled and re-riveted which can be quite difficult.

If the lock is using top and bottom shoot bolts then before disconnecting from the case, first throw the shoot bolts and then measure the amount of rod protruding from the door so you know how far to screw the rods back in.

The rods are held in place by retaining plates which stop the rods from unscrewing themselves, these have to be removed before the rods can be unscrewed from the gearbox.

Secure the top rod in place before removal from the case to avoid it dropping into the door cavity (if this happens then the door will have to be removed) some locksmiths also attach string so if it does drop then it can be retrieved, The bottom rod will drop to the floor once unscrewed and should drop far enough to allow the case to be removed.

Remove with door off
The lock is far easier to remove with the door off but obviously has the added work of putting the door back on afterwards.
Once door is removed then unscrew rods top and bottom, remove case and reconnect.
